How To Store & Use Sweet Pickle Relish

Some of the easiest relishes may be prepared with pickles. Simply finely chop either dill or sweet pickles, then stir into side dishes or top over hot dogs. Pickle relish is also a popular addition to tartar sauce. Once a jar has been opened, store it in the refrigerator up to 9 months.

Sweet pickle relish is most commonly served with hot dogs & hamburgers or it may be stirred into classic side dishes such as potato salad & deviled eggs. It is made by finely chopping cucumbers in a food processor, blending with the sugar vinegar & spices then preserved using a water bath canning technique for shelf stable storage up to one year. Conversely, a freshly prepared small batch sweet pickle relish may be stored in the refrigerator & used with in 3 weeks.
