The Profile
Flax
Flax is a versatile crop that is a member of the Linaceae family. It’s grown in many regions of the world & used for a variety of items. The plant stalk is sought after in many textiles ranging from bedding & clothing to table linens while flaxseed or linseeds may be ground & included to all sorts of recipes in order to enhance nutritional value by improving the fiber content & beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. A small amount can boost everyday favorites by adding a nutty flavor to Buttermilk-Molasses Multigrain Bread & Blueberry-Banana Flax Muffins for good taste but flax naturally imparts sound health into meals as well.
