How To Use Meringue Powder
Meringue powder is a product that may be found from most super centers on the cake decorating supply aisle commonly used when preparing royal icing to decorate petit fours, sugar cookies & other confections for entertaining. Dried egg whites are the main ingredient that once reconstituted with liquids, offers a stable, firm benefit so the icing holds shape whilst setting. This in turn allows the most simple, such as in the case of Miniature Buttermilk Hummingbird Cake Loaves & Miniature Buttermilk Carrot Cake Loaves, or more detailed piping design techniques to remain in place.
The Technique
The key factor to consider when preparing the Cream Cheese Glaze is to be certain the right amount of liquid is used when making it. If food coloring paste is to be added, cut back slightly on the liquid so the proper ratio may be achieved.
