makes about 2 1/4 cups 

1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 scallion, trimmed & sliced
1 small garlic clove, pressed
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup whole buttermilk

Combine the first 7 ingredients in a medium bowl. Whisk the mixture until well blended. Add the buttermilk. Whisk the dressing until combined. Cover & refrigerate 1 hour. Use as directed in specific recipe applications.
