Smokin’ Hot Skinny Chick Dip
Fall football brings on a multitude of games. Between heading to kid’s games & an alma mater match up, snacks play a huge part of the mix. Have a few indulgent favorites but round out the selections with something lighter. This dip is loaded with big flavor without adding a bit of fat. Be forewarned… It is fiery.

Game Changer
Hummus scores big points on tailgating spreads and it’s a healthy way to run the option. Fiber rich garbanzo beans will keep you feeling full and the roasted red pepper and chipotle pepper pack a powerhouse of flavor. Offer guests a beautiful and tasty selection of Sprouts farm-fresh produce for a winning presentation making it an all around MVP.
1 {15-oz} can Sprouts Farmers Market Garbanzo Beans, rinsed & drained
1/2 {11.9-oz} jar Sprouts Farmers Market Roasted Red Peppers
The juice of 1 lemon
1 small chipotle pepper, in adobo sauce
1 tsp adobo sauce
2 small garlic cloves, quartered
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/3 cup water
Whole grain crackers
A crudité of Sprouts Farm-Fresh Produce
Radishes * Snap Peas * Sprouts Farmers Market Mini Sweet Peppers * Cucumber Slices
Pulse the garbanzo beans, the red bell peppers, the lemon juice, the chipotle pepper, the adobo sauce, the garlic and the salt in a food processor 5 times or until coarsely blended. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl base. Add the water and blend on High speed until smooth, about 45 seconds. Stop the food processor once to scrape down the sides of the bowl base. Serve with the crackers and the crudité.
The Extra Point

How To Host Tailgating Parties With Healthy Options
Indulgent dips, deep fried favorites & bacon infused snacks rule on the tailgating table. Add in a mind blowing chocolate avalanche
& you could be in real trouble getting those skinnies on for the next ball game. Either plan to have your tailgating snacks as a meal
or plan to graze all day on smaller portions. Trust me. You cannot do both & win unless you’re willing to run like crazy the following week to make up for it. Game time will help you determine the best strategy.
The Technique
Have a taste of everything, not full servings. You’ll be surprised how full you’ll feel after sampling a few buffalo wings, several bites of assorted dips & a cookie or cupcake. Make exchanges. Spinach dip & corn chips… Sure. Go for it. Balance out with a healthier dip option & vegetable dippers. Protein & fiber rich foods will keep you feeling full longer. Stop eating once you feel full. We have a tendency to keep going. Remember this is a marathon of a day so go back for seconds a few hours down the road. Weekday meals count so plan to eat accordingly & you can feel good about the weekend splurge. Stay on top of it daily & you won’t get into trouble.
