How To Prepare Pecan Streusel
Baked goods topped with a crisp, crumbly streusel are real gems & the extra effort used to prepare them always pays off. Streusel blends can be made a variety of different ways however the basic ingredients used to prepare them do not vary all that much. Butter, flour & sugar, whether brown or white granulated are all that is needed to make a rudimentary one although many have nuts & spices added to them. The ingredient ratios & blending methods can vary as well to manipulate the final texture. Sweet potato casserole may have more butter so when baked the result is more of a candy-like topping. If more flour is used, the streusel holds it shape better during the baking process so the result maybe more cobbled in texture that are ideal for irresistible coffee cakes & muffin applications. Follow my pointers & learn how to prepare a Pecan Streusel.
