early versions made use of tarragon, chives & chervil w/ a tang from sour cream
feel free to substitute w/ herbs growing rampant in your own garden
… & the buttermilk was a natural sub for me

Rebecca GordonBasil Green Goddess Dressing
makes 2 cups

1 1/3 cups mayonnaise
1/2 cup packed fresh basil leaves
a handful of fresh parsley leaves
4 green onions, sliced
the juice of a lemon
2 small garlic cloves, pressed
3 Tbsp whole buttermilk
2 tsp anchovy paste

pulse all ingredients in a food processor until thoroughly blended
{about a minute or so}
season generously w/ kosher salt & pepper to taste

{considered by some to be the original ranch dressing}

what to do with it

{drizzle}
over salad greens

{spread}
on a BLT

{toss}
make an easy chicken salad w/ shredded smoked chicken
celery & radishes… add some parsley leaves to make it pretty
or
combine w/ shredded cabbage for an effortless cole slaw & top w/ blue cheese

{make}
