Since the leaves are so tender, it’s good practice to wash them the moment just before use. Remove the stem, separate the leaves & roll them in paper towels to absorb any moisture then place the bundle in a loosely closed plastic bag. The lettuce may be stored in the vegetable crisper up to 5 days or so. When ready for use, rinse the leaves needed under cool water then dry them throughly between fresh sheets of paper towels to remove any excessive moisture. Use them whole or tear the leaves with your hands to maintain optimum texture & appearance.
