The Gift Of Homemade Jam

A freshly prepared small batch of homemade jam is a lovely item to package for friends. Blueberry-Lemon Jam is a refrigerator variety that  may be made quickly using fresh or frozen, fresh blueberries. It holds in the icebox for approximately 5 days or it may be portioned in containers & frozen up to one month. Simply place it in the refrigerator to thaw overnight, then spread the jam over thinly sliced Buttermilk-Molasses Multigrain Bread, Buttermilk-Cornmeal English Muffins, Buttermilk Biscuits or Buttermilk Croissants. Learn how to package this seasonal stunner for friends & family.

How To Package Refrigerator Jam For Gifting

Once the cooking has concluded, the Blueberry-Lemon Jam should chill according to the recipe instructions. It will ensure that the jam is the proper consistency & make portioning much easier to manage.

Miniature hexagon jars make a beautiful presentation for homemade jam. Once purchased, the jars & lids should be run through the dishwasher for a cycle. This will not only clean them, but sterilize the jars before using them. To fill the jars, place the cold jam in a disposable pastry bag or zip-top freezer bag. If using the latter, it must be a freezer bag as it’s thicker & stronger than a regular bag. Snip the end or the corner & pipe the jam into each jar. Add the lids & tie them with a bit of butchers twine for gifting.
