makes about 3 1/2 dozen

1 cup butter, softened
1 {16-oz} box dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
3 cups ap flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 level tsp kosher salt
1 {10-oz} bag bittersweet chocolate morsels
2 dozen milk chocolate kisses

Cream the butter & the sugar with an electric stand mixer
on Medium speed until light & airy.

stop the mixer on occasion & scrape down the bowl sides with a rubber spatula

Add the egg & blend on Low speed just until the yellow disappears.
Blend in the vanilla.

Whisk together the flour, the baking soda & the salt in a small bowl.
Add to the butter mixture & mix on Low speed just until blended.
Add the morsels & milk chocolate.
Mix on Low speed just until blended.

Transfer the dough to a container.
Cover & chill at least 2 hours or up to days before baking.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Divide the dough into 1-oz portions.
Place on lightly greased foil-lined baking sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until just soft set in the cookie center
& the tops are no longer glossy.

Cool on the pans for 25 minutes.
Serve with a glass of milk.
